Static Rocket Motor Testing

The static sea-level rocket motor testing facility comprises an instrumented test stand, propellant feed system, control unit and datalogger. The current facility is suitable for the testing of hybrid and bi-propellant rocket motors up to 1 kN thrust (sea-level). In the near future, this will be expanded to 5 kN and eventually 20 kN. In keeping with Newton’s commitment to the environment, the test facility is restricted to hybrid and bi-propellant motors using non-toxic propellants. This facility is ideally suited for SMEs and universities who wish to undertake research or early proof of concept testing of small rocket engines.
